Default Shift-**** replacement (2010 GT Premium)

Hi all,

Is there a trick to removing the shiftknob for a 2010 GT Premium. It looks like the **** and the shifter are all one peice. I'd try to peel the shifter-boot down to see how it's connected, but I am afraid it'll undo the boot's attachment to the shifter. I would greatly appreciate it if you guys could steer me the right way, thank you in advance!

Just unscrew it. It is on there very tight, but it does unscrew.

I have the same **** as you - the one that is too hot to touch in the summer. There is no set screw as normal, just get a rubber or silicone grip mat (like the ones used to open jars) and give it a firm, steady twist. It's on there tight so don't use up too many layers of skin trying to get it off yourself.
