First Mustang - 2008 GT CS - Need Advice

If you aren't getting a procharger to go with the 4.10s, you are just going to kill your in-town mileage and have a useless first gear. Everyone that has posted in this thread has recommended 3.73s save one person. If you want 4.10s then by all means get them, but it is smart to listen to others with experience.

I've literally read numerous people recommend manual 4.10, auto 3.73 and equally many recommend the exact opposite. I'm at the point where I don't know what to believe anymore.
I've also read a lot recommending 3.73 if FI is in the future, 4.10 if staying NA. I plan to stay NA
AM chat person said they sell a lot more 4.10's, which is evident by the # of reviews. Several have autos in the review section, no negatives mentioned
But, 3.73's have been in my cart all weekend, because I was sold on those at first

I guess it really depends on what you are wanting from the car. If it is going to be a Sunday driver like you said in the original post, then I would think you want more driveability. You'll get that with the 3.73s more than the 4.10s. Both will be a big difference from stock, but with the 3.73s you will have more gear when you are going faster, and you will have a first gear that is usable as well.
My car was a manual, but to give you an idea of how much of first gear was there, listen to this video:
Also, if I was ever on the interstate and someone revved next to me, I couldn't even think about it because at 60 mph, 3rd gear would be close to redline. No real get-up if you needed it at those speeds.
edit: Also, you'll need some fatter tires on the rear or it will be spin city with 4.10s with any sharp acceleration. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the gears, but for mostly in-town driving I think that 3.73s are a better choice.

My previous Mustang was a 2007 GT. I had CAI, tune and 4.10's. Those gears were steep, but even with a manual, I was still OK when it came to freeway driving.
If you go cams, I would highly recommend long tubes just to help the exhaust end of the breathing and get a custom dyno tune with all of the new hardware. Cams sound nice...but adding LTH to cam sounds frickin' awesome.
