It you want the best possible answer to your question, go to Blackstone's website and request a free UOA kit. Pull the sample with the engine warm (20 minute drive), and from the middle of the quantity drained. Spend $28, and you'll quickly have an answer based off your car/driving style/oil.
Totally agree. That's the most logical approach.

On no longer needing to do oil changes at 3000 miles, sure - with the added stipulations that the driving is mostly street driving and none of it involves track driving at the intermediate level or higher.

Yup, that was my point, if you drive like a grandma go ahead and extend the interval, but if you beat the crap out of it there's no sense in risking it.

I did Blackstone Labs testing on my 2006 - and didn't drive it like a grandma at all. They kept telling me to extend the interval and I was up to 8,500 miles between changes when I sold it with 203,000 miles on it. That included almost weekly visits to the drag strip with it and a lot of passes each time. They were still telling me I could extend it.

So if you really want to know the condition of the oil and your engine, get the oil tested. Looking at it and guessing isn't the way to do it.

That's a loaded question. My tow vehicle goes 8k miles between oil changes with full synthetic; 10k miles if I haven't towed much. Did that with my previous and current tow vehicles with all 3 accumulating over 500,000 total miles on full syn.

My wifes stang is her dd and it goes 5k-7k miles between full syn oil changes because of her lead foot and mix of stop n go driving.

My stang no longer sees much use so I change it once per year or every 8k miles with full syn, whichever comes first.

Our daily beater gets all stop n go driving. 3k miles using dino or 6 months, whichever comes first.

Educate yourself and make your own decisions. I have put over 1 million miles on multiple vehicles using full synthetic and personally feel that even 10k mile change frequencies are conservative in many circumstances.

It's not a Mustang, but here is my most recent UOA for my Freestyle. I went 10,800 on the oil before changing. Their next suggested mileage is 12,000.

I have been changing my own oil & filter for many years at 3000 miles and have never had any engine wear issues or oil burning problems. I use full synthetic (any name brand on sale) and usually Wix filters. I justify that frequency because I do it myself and that saves money. Probably overkill but my moto is "it's cheaper to change oil than parts". And the used oil gets recycled so it is not wasted as some say. On the Mustang, which I only drive in the summer, I generally put on about 5-6000 miles so it gets changed once mid summer and in the fall when it goes to bed. I don't like sludge sitting in it all winter.

My 14 is a summer car as well. I change it once mid summer and before it goes down for the winter. Probably don't really need the mid summer change but it's cheap insurance. I believe the key to summer only cars is not letting the acidic mix sit in the engine over the winter. Mobil 1. Ymmv.
