I believe your brown COPS indicate that you don't have the 2 piece plug - at least from everything I've about Ford's 'better idea"! Probably time to change them anyway (depending on mileage).

They are still technically two piece. I could see the seam when I put my new ones in but they are rated much better than the original style. I put a little anti sieze on the threads so the carbon has nothing to stick too and they won't get stuck. But yes the brown boots mean the later style.

I always put anti seize on anything I work on. If you are handy, it wouldn't hurt to take them out and put a little on the threads and snorkel - but not on the sparking tip. (However with only 22K on it, there shouldn't be reason to change them for a long time).
You could change the fuel filter though. I changed mine at 40K and it was filthy.

I agree on the fuel filter. This is what came out of mine after less than 10k miles. Of course I live in the third world so unless you live in one of the crappier States in the US your gas shouldn't be this bad.

Are they selling you gasoline or explosive coffee. Guess I'm making a trip to the auto parts store for a filter.
