Default New fuel pump, STILL HARD TO START..Help!

2006 GT, 14K miles, and I've had intermittent hard starting problems when hot, say after a run and it sits for ah hour or so. I have to hold the starter down for about 2 seconds, or stop and turn the key off and on again to start it.
When it sits overnight in the garage, it doesn't happen...starts right up.
I just had a new fuel pump put in today, because my mechanic said it had to be the fuel pump, but it did it again. It's not throwing any codes, check engine, etc. and it runs great. He says it's not the fuel pressure sensor, because it would be sending a check engine code if it was. Any experience with this?
Thanks!
