Time To School The New Guy
Hello everyone I hope this goes better then expected I just bought a 2006 GT Black on Black On Red fully loaded with the 18" Bullit wheels, here is the thing I have always been into cars but I guess you could say I am entering man-hood, I have always been that pocket rocket/4 banger screamer kind guy with my last car being a 2004 SVT Focus with the Euro Package, anyway I am looking on some guidance on where to go for more power in these types of vehicles, I have been looking at the C&L Intake and tune but I am not sure I want to drop $600 right off the bat. Is the C&L kit worth it? do you have any recommendations on where I can go to learn about how to make power on a V8, are the rules different than on a typical 4 banger? Thanks in advance! Also what about exhaust, I am looking at Bassani, Borla, and Magnaflow any tips will be greatly taken!!!

Your FIRST investment should be an SCT or Diablo Tuner. You can search the forums for tons of info and comparisons between the two. Tuning your car is always going to be the most important thing you do to it and that's the first thing you should start with.

Probably pretty close.
Best thing you can do fo these cars is getting them to breath better. Intake, full exhaust (not just the cat-back) and a good tune are great places to start. The tuner should be your first investment though, as you will need it for just about any performance upgrade you do to your new ride. After that, i would say gears.
