This is my First Time at the Track with my Car, Could some one Critique my slips, What could I do to better to get into the high 12's

The track was slick this morning, so I launched at about 1200-1400 RPM any more and I would spin at the way through the 60'
other then that it was a blast, Got some great video too. Temp was about 80 low humid.

Thanks for any help

Um. . . to get in the 12's, you would have to cut 2 tenths off that 60ft. . . and you will need drag radials for that. . .

thats assuming you can pull another 13.3 again . . . you would need 2.5 tenths in the 60 if you consistant 13.4 and 13.5

check my sig. . . 12's ain't easy my friend

Really, I thought that since was my first time Racing that I would get better with practice?
Also, I noticed that people were removing there spare tires woofers and back seats when they race, does this help?

well, i would have said that, but your auto, and your pulling really good 60's . . . not a whole lot of room to get better like in a 5 speed. . .

removing spare tires = less weight = higher trap speed but also = less traction . . . thats a toss up

well. . . i will just say this, i was 13.298, added about 12 rwhp and pulled a slightly better 60ft and got a 13.100, approx 2 tenths. . . thats why i say its not easy, i thought about 12 to 15 more wheel would put me at least 3 tenths better, guess again, it might have at 13.8, but not at 13.2,

dropping the time gets exponentially harder the faster you go

Practice and try the method I described earlier about barely staging. Remember that gives you the most rollout and will help your ET. Let the car cool a good while and just practice and you'll get there. Now with good weather and a good track it might be possible with the 103mph, but it's not plausible withoout the increase in traction and reduction of the 60ft.

Another update for me....Unfortunatley it was my local 1/8th mile track this time. It's still my new best though 60ft and 1/8th ET and mph @ Kanawha Valley Dragway. I bet you can guess I'm the blue one...still on my Pirelli PZeroNero's Now I have to change my signature again....
