Default Did Mahle make Ford's piston for the 5.4 S/C??

Casey (anyone), did Mahle make Ford's 18cc forged dished piston for the S/C'd 5.4?? I.e., were they the OEM manufacturer?? Need to know ASAP. I think I've been robbed.

Poppy, I do not know if the F150 S/C 5.4 pistons are from Mahle or not. I know they are making them for the GT500 and also the rods. Please contact me in the morn and I can set you up with a set of Probe pistons. Werun these in all of ourmod motors with out any problems. We have somemaking over 800hp. Only upgrade is tool steel pins. Any questions, let me know. Thanks

The 5.4 piston has a different comp. height than the 4.6. Please contact me in the morn and I can set you up with a set of Probe pistons. Werun these in all of ourmod motors with out any problems. Thanks Casey. I will need to give this guy a chance to prove his claim or cancel my Paypal payment. I'll call you. Before I saw his ad, I was ready to order Probes. I found a pretty good price on some, but I'll check with you. I will be putting them in a'98aluminum Teksid block but with PI 2v heads.Someone told me that PI heads on pre-'99 blocks raise the compression to about 10:1. So, I think I need at least 18cc dish and maybe 23cc (?). I run a P1SC with about 12 lbs of boost and want to be able to spray NOS (it is installed, just not activated). I recently grenaded because of detonation, I think.

You will have a higher comp. when using the 99 up PI heads on an 96-98 GT engine. The reason of course is the PI heads have a smaller cc combustion chamber. We can set you up to have 9.1 comp. At this comp. you will have no problems....even 9.5 would begood.....more power. We are doing a stroker motor for a customer right now that will come out around 9.38. He is running a S-trimat 15psi and a 150 shot. He plans on going to a T-trim for more power. Bottom line.....its all in the TUNE!!!!!! If your tune up is right, have the octane fuel you can run desent comp. in the engines under boosted conditions.
