It is with a heavy heart I am making the first post in the new section to let everyone know that MF has lost one of its own.
We had not heard from tripsevn7, one of the moderators on this site (and one of the longest active members here on MF), for quite some time. Upon checking to see how he was affected by the recent storm being a New Orleans area resident, sidewayz6.0 found out that Chad lost a battle with injuries stemming from an car accident in late July. He passed away on July 27.
Chad was an excellent moderator and member, and was well liked on the forum. He will be missed here on the forum as he will surely be missed by those who knew him personally.
Here is a link to his obituary, with information about donation requests from his parents.
this is such a shame. Trip was definitely a great staff member, and a better person. i had some good conversations with the guy, never once had a reason for dislike, and he always handled everything in a professional manner.
he'll definitely be missed.

Chad was truly a unique individual. He was one of the kindest, and most caring person I ever had the pleasure to know. He really would give anyone the shirt off his back. When Katrina came through New Orleans, Chad stayed there, and spent countless hours doing search and rescue with his own personal vehicle, and took many people he didn't know to safety.
Chad loved working on cars, and spent a lot of time assisting members here with their own builds, and always had something positive to say when those people set a new personal best at the track. He enjoyed the time he spent here discussing cars and just jabbering with other car guys.
His was a life that will be truly missed by many people. I have never felt so deeply saddened to hear that someone I didn't know personally is gone. Chad is proof that good people can touch your life through the internet.
Rest in peace my friend...

peace."

Man that sucks. Back in April I had a lengthy PM conversation with him regarding boats. He gave me a lot of good advice and was really cool about answering my many questions. That really blows, to put it in plain English.
My prayers go out to him and his family. Rest in peace, brother.
I have known Chad an extremely long time. He was one of the few "original" staff remaining here at MF today. He had been a volunteer here at our site for many, many years.
I have also spent countless hours chatting with him over the years and I regret to say it had been sometime since I last checked in with him. His ordeal sounded like it was terrible and I am so very sad to have to post in this thread.
All I can hope now is that all the good things we hope for in the afterlife are true... he is happy, watching over all of us and his loved ones...
