Default Shifting problems...

Idon't know about you guys, but my mach shifts like crap. from 1 to 2 it feels likeI have to force it to get into second. It feelslike there is something stopping me. It doesn't feel strong at all. Is this normal? If it's not how canI fix it? And if i need to fix it, how much money and what parts do I need?
The car only has 45000 miles on it. So unless the last driver beat it to hell.. I don't know what could be wrong..

Try this: pull the boot and make sure it's not aftermarket with maladjusted stops on it
If it does have stops, run them out at little. If not, undo the four bolts holding the shifter on and pull it off and check the condition of your fluid. Could be time for a flush. Pay very close to the condition of the fluid, too. If it's burnt, you mayhave bigger problems. I don't want to scare you, just prepare you.

Also, memory tells me there was a TSB on 3650s some time ago. I cannot remember what the issue was, but you may call your localdealership and see what it was.

Lemme know.

Actually, I looked at the TSB section of this website. There were a few that matched your symptoms. Specifically, if you call the dealership for information, have them take a look at TSB# 04156. Sounds like your issue.

Yeah sounds like the old T-3650 first to second grind problem to me. Get on mach1registry and PM Mach1Marauder- he has a little fluid combination that will really help with your shifting problem if Ford wont still fix it under the TSB. I think it is like 1 quart Lucas Tranny Fix, and 2 or 3 quarts royal purple or something like that....supposedly works wonders.
