Hey guys, I just bought a 2004 Mach 1 5spda few weeks ago and I'm shopping for Lt headers. Are any of you Mach owners running Lts? What brand do you recommend? Which ones have the best fittment? Any problems? Sorry for all the questions, I just want to get it right the first time!

Thanks for the info. Do you think headers/exhaust are the best place to start modding on these cars. I figured it would help it with some low end torque.

Kooks and Slp make nice long tubes and you can change your clutch without taking your headers off. Just something to think about. BBK's are nice since they cost less but you will have to drop a headers if you need to do a clutch. When I do long tubes I will be going with Kooks since they tuck up nice on my lowered car.
Kooks are sweet! Im in the process of swapping my headers right now to kooks! Im going with a whole new exhaust! I'd suggest kooks if you got the extracash, they are a bit pricey, so if not then bbk's would work jus fine!

That sux pretty bad that you have to undo the BBKs to change the clutch. I'm gladyou pointed that out. I think I may hold out for the kooks. Especially since they leave room to lower the car. Anybody have any dynos showing gains from longtubes? I imagine there should be at least a15rwhp gain.

SLPs or Kooks are the top two...Also I have heard that American racing is making very high quality headers for our cars now for a very competitive price! If you want the cheap way out get the BBK longtubes like I did on my last mach 1. Quality was decent...but make sure to take a grinder / dremel took to the ports and smooth out all of the sloppy weld splatter they left in there! If just one of those pieces brake off and get sucked into the EGR you can kiss one unlucky piston ring goodbye...maybe worse. For the price they do perform really well though...but you'll have to remove the passenger side at the least if you ever have to drop the tranny [:'(]
