382 x .80 = 306. .85 is for a stick shift but its an automatic so you times it by .80 because of the 20% drivetrain loss. So more like 122 hp gain. if it was a stick it would be getting about 325 rwhp.

Ah, gotcha. Thx for the clarification. Either way, one nice street/strip auto stang. You ever think about 3.73s? I think they'd yield a good gain for no drop in daily drivability.

I had a 4.10 and it was very impractical. I may switch to a 3.73 but I can't help but think that it'll be as impractical as that 4.10 was. I guess it can't be too bad since Ford has a 3.73 option on the new mustangs straight out the factory. How much more would my rpms go up during normal cruising at say 70 mph? with the 4.10 I was at about 3k rpms cruising and 3.55 i'm more like 2300 rpms.

No it doesnt make a difference at WOT. He lied to you. O2 sensor will just make you have bad MPG and run like crap under regular rpm's. Its in your head. You can run much more boost, so do it.

I only jumped 300 rpms going from 3.55s to 4.10s in my 5spd. Still got 24mpg at 70 mph.

thats because you have a 5 spd. In a 4 spd automatic, gears it goes up more than 300 rpms. In a six speed a 4.10 would barely make a difference. But I have a 4 speed.

I understand your concern, mine's a daily driver as well. Being much closer to the 3.55s than the 4.10s, the 3.73s @ 70 would put you up as little as 200 maybe 300. Hard to tell exactly b/c the gearing is a bit steaper than our .62 5th gear. I think the 3.73s would do ya well, but it's your DD and I know how that stuff goes.

At 70 with 4:10's im at 2800 rpms. Automatic. You bought this car for performance not gas. Plus gas is cheap live it up.
