Default Self-Made Sequential Taillights

I made myself some sequential taillights for about $20. Has anyone else done this?

I got a used taillight harness on eBay for around $10 and spent about $10 on electronic parts. I did have to program a microchip, too.

I'm pretty curious on how you programmed the chip? Any more details? Looks great man!

Default Code

Basically when the chip sees 12V (from the flashers or the brake pedal), it delays the activation of the outer two lights. The inner light comes on instantaneously and isn't controlled by the chip. After a certain amount of time, the chip activates a circuit that allows the 12V to turn the center light on, and then the outer one.

Sick. Sequential lights are pretty cool. A buddy of mine has them on his Mach.

Can you explain in more detail along with a parts list. I'd like to do this. What did you use to program them?

I was going to do a write-up, but I used programming software to write the code and a device programmer to put it on the chip. Unless you have access to these (I use them at work), they would far outweigh the cost of just buying the sequential taillights set from somewhere else.
