Default P1SC vs D1SC

So im in the process of purchasing one of the two in the very near future. Ive done research as to what the difference is between the 2. My question that i cant seem to find the answer to is if u run the D head at the lowest boost levels ... #10... what will the horsepower be? reasons i care.. for the time being im gunna run with a stock block and i dont wanna blown stuff up.. pple always say if ur around 450 or less to the wheels you shouldnt run into problems.. this being said would the D head at #10 be under 450 rwhp? my only support mods are slp longtubes catted x and lm1 catback

well I was in your exact situation a year ago, and installed my D1 head unit with the 8-9 lb pulley. Only other mods were the same SLP longtubs, catted X, magnapacks, and intake spacer.... and the beast made 493 rwhp haha. that was with a very conservative 11.5ish A/F on the tune. Knowing that wouldn't have lasted long I got the motor built before it blew.

I would say if you are honestly content with 400-450 rwhp and keeping the stock block go with the P1- they make more then enough power for the stock bottom end. BUT if you know deep down inside that you'll want more in the future, and a potential motor build is ahead- go with the D1...the thing can make some pretty crazy boost. my .02

I'm running with a D1 on a conservative tune at 13lbs. It's possible but pushing it, they'll just throw the timing to make it safe for ya.

I'd get a D1 simply because the p1 headunits seem like POS with as many people as there are having to replace the seals all the time.

Ya, they do seem to leak some. I had to replace my inner seal. This winter i'm replacing everything.

If you do run into some problems Sace, i bought used, great guy over at superchargerrebuild.com will help you out a lot.

My D1 Pulley shaft was leaking horribly when I put it on.... actually flung oil all over the place. You can get that seal from your local napa- part number #11625. It was like 6 bucks lol. If you can change a pulley you can change the seal. Now the internal seals are a little harder....

Nah, not if you buy new you shouldn't. But if it does goes its probably the seal Machwon was talking about which was an easy fix.
