Default Hood Pins

Anyone know where I can get some black anodized hoodpins? I'd like to get actual pins, not just an "appearance kit." What do you guys think?

Also, what are the best black aluminum louvers to get and where should I buy them from? I DO NOT like the ones with the thick, vertical separators.

Thanks guys

As someone who has had both of those mods installed on his car for years, I can't say I've ever seen black anodized hood pins. If you open and close your hood as much as I do, I would imagine that unless the pins are powder coated chrome moly, the anodizing would chip off. My Ford Racing stainless steel/chrome hood pins have held up quite well over the years.

As for the louvers, Visus are the best, hand down. They are expensive, but they are well worth the price. Currently, they are available through several outlets, including MRT, Shinoda, Dallas Mustang, and most of the larger parts warehouses.

Why not? That sounds like some kind of personal bias to me. I've had three friends all have their stock hood latch fail at 60+mph. You see the damage that causes, and having a little extra security backup is worth it. If anything, it enhances the looks of the car.

actually it makes the hood look cluttered and ruins the clean look.

A lot of people have hoods that are not adjusted correctly, meaning the latch and the hood stops. I'd imagine your friend probably had some hood flutter and and never correctly adjusted anything.

I've never had my hood come undone or flutter, even at 130mph.... you guys need to adjust your hood stops... *sigh* I'm with Furinox, but i think the hood pins look fine just whats the point unless you get an aftermarket hood.
