Mach1 with Lightning TB and 90mm MAF with JLT intake
I was thinking about changing to a JLT true cold air system from the C&L CAI to see if there are any significant HP differences after a good dyno tune. Wondering if anybody has went this route as well and if the gain was well worth the modification. Comp cams will be in the near future as well as ported, polished heads. These will be the changes in the mods:
From:
Accufab twin 60mm TB, C&L CAI w/ 85mm MAF, 9" KN filter with oil breather
To:
Accufab lightning oval TB, JLT true CAI, FRPP 90mm MAF, 9" KN filter with oil breather

I guess this would be a first. Nobody has even contimplated on doing this? I read somewhere that Mach1 owners were cutting/machining the center bridge of aluminum to make a oval port for the lightning 1600+cfm TB. I figured with either a good tune with stock 24lb inj or upgrading to 30lb inj would work fine and not taking the chance of leaning the engine out.

i installed a jlt cai and i would not recommend it. it was a bad fit, but it did fit eventually. the maf placement is far in the fender and youll have remove plenty of wire loom and tape off the harness to make it fit and the metal filter adapter didnt seal well around the maf. imo i dont recommend it. as for the tb, ive seen one done on a cobra and on a new edge bullitt stang. didnt talk to them but i have read that it did cause some idle issues with some people. with bolt on parts your injectors should be adequate, if you needed more fuel you could just swap in a ford gt pump or svt focus pump.
