Default My Mach makes wierd noises and is corroding...

Ok so I open the hood and start cleaning my engine bay (second time) and notice some white looking stuff on my throttle body. I take off my intake tube and its corroding in there!!! Wtf? Why? What should I do? What could it do to my engine? Car has 45k miles and has lived in kinda central (Puyallup/Tacoma) Washington its whole life. Also I have the common rearend whine, however, when I am coming to a stop in second gear I get this high pitched whiny noise and then I hit 1st and it gets louder and weirder. Still does it when the clutch is in... Is it my throwout bearing or something? Heres some pics/ videos...

Looks worse in person.

Nope, stock. Has K&N drop in filter and 40 series flows... Could my Transmission fluid be low or something?

Idk man. I don't have my Mach anymore, but I think I remember it doing the same thing. Should be fine.

The whining is just your transmission synchros spinning. When you down shift with the clutch pressed while coming to a stop you should hear them spin up as soon as the gear shift starts to enter the gate of the lower gear. They will spin up to get the transmission to meet the flywheel as smoothly as possible when the clutch engages (release pedal).

No worries it is normal. You need to worry when it makes a grinding noise with the clutch pedal depressed. That means your synchros are getting bent. Avoid this by rev matching with the gas pedal when you downshift and not power shifting

I might just change the fluid. Just changed the engine oil so its sensible. Paintballfreak you described it exactly how it is, I wont worry anymore however my 96 GT didn't do this... Oh well. Any word on why my throttle body has white s*** all over it lol? The first pic does the most justice, it looks that way inside there in person.
