I am experiencing a misfire on #8 according to the code, it throws a check engine and stays lit until i clear it. I'm aware of the TSB on this issue but my question is far more specific. How does the misfire detection unit work? it must be referencing a knock sensor or maybe 02 readings in relation to engine timing to determine a misfire occurred...so my question is how does the sensor operate? Thanks in advance.
