To be honest, I wouldn't bother with the longtubes. Yes they make a bit more power but for the $2300 you could get a lot more out of your car with suspension or good wheels and tires. $2300 is coil-overs and a panhard bar or a lot of other stuff.

Just my opinion but LT's just do not seem worth it.

maybe look into some GREAT shorties from Kooks, or hookers,

Just thought about this, but if you have a manual car it is a pain in the BUTT when you have to do clutch work! cause you have to remove the headers before hand

Not with Kooks or ARH, they are fabricated so that the tranny can be dropped down without removing the headers.

I will never win with my dad, some of his friends mentioned breaking a header bolt and that finished it off... Looks like I will be doing an off road x pipe and a catback. So that is about 1k down should I do the d-specs and lowering springs and be done? What else should I do for 1k?

breaking a header bolt? HA good luck! especially with a new car!

And has he heard of an easy out? not to mention you were going to have a shop do it.... why would you even have to worry about that, since its THEIR problem if they break it!
Not sure if the mach 1 engine header bolts are the same as the 04 cobra engine, but the cobras have STUDs with nuts on them, so you dont even have to worry about breaking anything

First off how old are you? Second off, your dad should be happy you spending money on stuff for your car that you want, and not drugs lol. 3rd off, from the way your dad is talking, he seems to hyper, tell him to have a couple beers, relax, and calm down. 4th off, I love my ARH Setup!

In the words of a Charlie Brown.....GOOD GRIEF. You may want to get the SLP X so that you can run LTs if you're allowed to get them some day. But hey, you'll feel and hear some great gains with a o/r X and catback, around 20 hp with a straight-through muff. No cats is much louder so I recommend a straight-through catback that's not abnoxiously loud w/o cats. SSS Adrenalines or SLP Powerflos sound awesome with an o/r midpipe IMO. Check out the "Mach 1 Exhaust Notes" sticky and youtube clips for the sound you like.

For the other $1k I'd say get these...short-throw shifter, JLT ram air intake, tuner (whichever your local shop uses), and a dyno tune. The tune will give you your fulls moneys worth of the intake and exhaust set-up you've paid for. Follow with a shifter and gears as your budget allows. Then follow with a Kenny Bell supercharger and a retune!

LMFAO! I'm 18, 19 in November. I know right... Problem is that he needs to give the go ahead because I will have to barrow his truck so I can get to school and work everyday.
