I wish I lived by you so you could hear how my car sounds with longtubes in person, it sounds amazing! I still vote do the longtubes. It will help now and most defiantly in your future mods you add.

What catback do you have and are you catted? I want to do either Borla or make a custom Corsa setup. I cant do that until I recover from this though

1st Setup: ARH Longtubes + ARH Catted X + Borla Stingers

It sounded good, loud, some rasp to it, but I wanted to go o/r so I switched it up.

2nd Setup: ARH Longtubes + ARH o/r X + Borla Stingers

This was way to loud, sounded terrible and I didn't even want to drive the car anymore because it was so loud and sounded bad. I did love the gain of the o/r pipe and my A/F Wideband gauge works good now with the o/r pipe, the cats kinda screwed it up, didn't get a proper reading.

3rd Setup: ARH Longtubes + ARH o/r X + Steeda Catback

Sounds Amazing at WOT, no rasp but very quiet at idle and very quiet at cruise. The Steeda catback is the same as the "Quiet Borla" catback "oval mufflers". If you want quiet at idle and cruise but scream at WOT go with the borla.

I'm going to ditch the steeda catback next spring in favor of the bassani catback. Bassani makes a great tone and sound with an o/r x. I actually have my ARH Catted X sitting in my garage with only 150 miles on it, if you want make me a offer on it and you pay shipping, unless your buying the headers and midpipe as a kit from somewhere.

^^ seen that article, has good info, only problem is you have to take EVERYTHING you read in a magazine with a grain of salt! the magz make things look a little easier not to mention whoever is sponosroing the article will get a better rep by the magazine

Been there done that with magazine articels! used them to do a few car projects and they leave out some key information

IMO ditch the chamber muffler on the 4v's. Are motors sound so much better with a straight thru muffler compared to a chamber. Flowmasters are out played and over done, plus you gain more power from a straight thru muffler (some may disagree).
