IM partially deaf in one ear. and the only time i got WOT is racing...so it won't be to bad for me
i Had straight pipes on my 67 coupe....it was AWESOME!!!!
what made it obnoxious?
lets tlak about HP differences what is the difference with the H and the X? it i only gain 2 hp up top i would rather go H pipe, but if its 5hp thorughout the curve then i want x.

I can't tell you what the HP difference is since I've never had any of my Machs on a dyno, but I can tell you what all three of them did on the track before and after the X-Pipe. I'll stick to traps only since traps are a better measure of HP than trying to figure in 60', ETs, etc.
Mach number one trapped 105 stock, later trapped 108 with ORX and chambered cat-back. After 4.10s were installed traps went up to 110.
Mach number two was an automatic and trapped 106 with a catted X and stock mid. I never got a baseline run for that car, but I'm guessing it would've been around 103.
Mach #3, current Mach, went 105 stock, and 107.97 with the OR/X and chambered catback. No other power mods other than a KN filter. It has stock gearing.
So, to break it down, its safe to say you'll gain 3 mph from an OR/X alone. From what I've been told by my tuner and others, the peak HP gains aren't all that different between the H and X, but imo its the power under the curve thats improved. At any rate, an OR/H will still raise your traps and power, its just not going to help you as much in the upper RPM range. Ford did a lot better on the newer Stangs as far as designing the mid-pipe, but on the new edges, there's two too many cats.

You'll lose that deep muscle car sound with an o/r x-pipe. It's a higher pitch and more raspy, but you will gain a few hp 3-5whp. The big plus comes in torque, on an otherwise unmodded Mach 1, I gained 15rwtq with just an o/r x!

I have been trying to find more info on prochambers. There's not a lot of info out there about them (my dumbass can't find it anyway). The theory makes sense, and they sound awesome, so if someone could give us some test results it may help people narrow down their mid-pipe search.
