Tuning

Just got back and the car seems to be running strong. 293hp and 315 ft-lb. The torque numbers might be slightly overstated because of wheel spin, but John said it should be somewhere around 307 ft-lb. Overall I'm happy with the power it made. I think it's time to get some Kooks headers to bring it up to 300hp.

Haha yeah, John is a local celebrity. Everybody I know that has a Mustang knows who he is lol. I want to get my car dyno'd soon too. What did he charge you? Does your car feel any better or different at all? Get ARH headers, they're better than Kooks lol.

Well, he only charged me for the dyno time because the previous owner had installed a tune on my car, but not using SCT or Diablo. John said the car might have an HP tune? I don't know what that is, but John uploaded his tune and the numbers were actually lower than what we had started with. John gave it one more run on the dyno with some final tweaking and his tune put out 1hp and laround 2ft lb more than with the HP tune, so John recommended that I keep the tune I have. The total for the dyno time was $160. I wish his tune would have added even more power, but in the end I have peace of mind knowing my car is putting down what it should be.
I was originally quoted a flat rate of $400, but John was honest enough not to sell me the SCT tuner/tune because I didn't need it. I would do business there again, the facilities are top notch and John is a cool guy.
