Default Got dyno'd -- only 277 rwhp & 296 ft/lbs??

- Dyno Jet
- 65 degrees and sunny
- SAE corrected? Not sure (says CF: SAE Smoothing = 0)

This seems below average compared to what I've seen in other threads with similar modifications. Thoughts? The graph's colors kind of suck, not the richest in color so it's kind of hard to see.

Magapacks & VRS o/r x-pipe
JLT ram air intake
PHP intake spacer
FRPP 4.10s (only mention this because some say it effects results, others don't... whatever)
18" wheels with a 30mm profile on the rear tires

Thoughts?

Is that on the stock tune?

Bigger wheels and the 4.10 gears will make the number lower...though maybe just a little bit, but still lower.

Has the car ever made a stock, baseline dyno pull? Different dyno's will read different numbers on the same exact car...something to consider when comparing with others on the 'net.

Nope, the first pull was on a canned tune i got from Texas Hot Rods. Second and third were custom tuned/tweaked. At least I got some torque gains out of it... I can definitely feel it.

Oh, and no baseline pull either... I wish I would have.

Another thing brought to my attention is all the turbulence in the graph AND the car took quite a bit longer to make power than a couple other Mach 1 dyno sheets I saw with <300 rwhp.

I wonder what the turbulence could be about.

The first pull either had the canned tune still on, or no tune at all, and then the second and third pull was with the tuner's own tune.

You can't really bench race with other guys based on dyno figures. They vary too much from dyno to dyno, and even the same car and dyno on different days. For what it is worth... I dyno'd 300.5 on one local dyno, 293 on another local dyno, and recently only 279 on another local dyno. However, a few days before the 279 dyno pull, I ran a best of 12.5@110.55 at the track, so I wouldn't sweat the dyno numbers much. A dyno is a tuning tool and comparing numbers with other guys is a waste of time.
My 2 cents.

TrueBlue has this down to the T. Dyno's arent ford numbers really, they are used to tune a car. comparing numbers is typically useless unless those people have run on the same dyno during the same day with the same conditions.
