Default NUMBERS DON'T LIE

Dyno #s mean very little, timeslips do.

Longtubes work. I copied/pasted this log of my runs to show you guys the improvement. In order by ET, fastest to slowest. IMPORTANT...to further illustrate, the improvement wasn't over a stock exhaust, it was over an X pipe with no cats and a straight-through SLP catback.

Note: my 60' times are all over the place. Note how even the slowest ET with LTs (cut me some slack, first pass in 6 mos.) beat out other runs that had better 60' times, due to the extra power down the track.

Nice job! 12.0's are right at your finger tips!

Do you remember the weather conditions in April when you ran the other passes?
How did the weather compare to this time out?
Your trap speeds increased for sure. The long tubes probably added around 15rwhp so I would expect a little increase in trap speed. I'm curious if a little of that gain you saw was weather related as well. Cooler air does wonders for trap speeds also.

are you still running a caned tune??? Im not saying dyno numbers are what it is about but it is a tuneing tool I would think wiht all you have done (on a canned tune) a dyno tune would net you more power and maybe help you push into the 11's. to me it seems like the next logical step in your mods.
Just my 2 cents

yup, canned tune. I see what you're saying, but a brother's on a budget. You know how it goes. If a custom tune ever gets comfortably in the budget it'll be done, upon the wife's approval, ofcourse. 11s sure do sound nice.

Thx man. The passes in April were in really good conditions, equal to this time around I'd say. I try to run at the beginning/end of season for the optimal conditions. I really think the LTs just paid off in the upper rpm of every gear, regardless of any very minor weather change.

I was the modest fellow saying I was shooting for a 12.1 and you said I should shoot for a 12.0. Regardless, you got a big fat box of cookies coming in the mail! Anything for you Rebel, lol.

Those 60' times are awesome...I can't seem to get those down
from my (almost every time) 1.8's...I'm using MT Drag Radials...

How are you launching? What RPM's? Your times are brilliant...
must be the driver-mod

Darn man, appreciate it. Through bunches of trial and error and frustration and cursing up and down at myself and my car, I've learned that working the clutch is the way to go. After hearing all this manly talk about dumping the clutch at high rpm I've found that keeping the rpm up is where it's at, and it just can't be done by letting the clutch out in one motion. Letting it out too quick made me bog, even with the 4.10s, and I'm sure was harder on the axles. If you watch the couple vids I have on youtube, the drop in rpm when I launch is the clutch engaging, and I don't let completly off it till right after that. Took alot of patience, a good 20-30 runs of pride swallowing to get it down. Consistent low 1.7s with the occassional 1.6 is what I shoot for. Hope this helps.

When you say that "...keeping the rpm 'up,'.... how up do you mean?

How much rwhp have you in that fine lookin' mach, by the way?

And are you runnin' 31 splines?
