Default mgw shifter questions, help!!

Ok, just got the mgw STS and have some questions about the shift stops.

1.Where are they located? Are they underneath the rubber boot on the new shifter?
2.Do I need to use them? The instructions say not too because our transmissions come with internal stops, but I spoke with my local shop and they said to use them for extra protection.
3.If so, how do you adjust them properly? Does anyone have a write up with photos?
Thanks for the help!!

you can use them for peace of mind, but they're essentially useless.

I put the MGW in both my 04 GT and now in my 03 Mach....no need to use the stops. The trans already has them and can in fact harm the trans if you use them and not set them right. Don't install them.

Congrats on the STS, I've also heard it's noisy, my triax is pretty quiet.

Nature of the beast. NVH (Noise, Vibration, Harshness) will be increased with short throw shifters. Did you pick up a inner dust boot? Those can reduce the noise a tad. You could also add some Dynamat etc inside the trans tunnel to reduce noise.

Read up for some great info from CliffyK:
