Default Clutch for my Mach?

Really need some advice from someone that has been thru this before.
My baby needs a needs a TO bearing so while I have it apart It seems like a good time for a new clutch and maybe flywheel. It has the basic boltons CAI,4.10 gears ,31 sline axles ,catted X , flowmasters, SCT tuner, 60,000+ miles. With future plans of DRs and maybe nitrous or cams .It may see some drag passes but for the most part it is a summer nice day street car.
My questions are. What clutch? there are so many chioces.
What is working for you?
Do I need a new flywheel or just have this one machined?
Thank you.

I doubt the factory one will fail on you. I'd save your $ and stay with the stock one. If you replace it, go with the factory one. If you were running more power or racing it alot more I'd say go with a high-performance clutch that's a little less friendly with your left leg. But neither applies so stick with the stocker. It's actually a very durable and good performing piece.

I replaced mine with a Cobra clutch from late model restoration, it was like $273. I also bought the quadrant adjuster and all that and ended up just below $400.

Well if you're gonna go in there for a TO bearing you might as well go with a 26spline input and with the matching clutch of your choice, no sense sticking another 10 spline in there. The cheaper route would be a new stock 10 spline and a cobra clutch if you can find one since ford racing discontinued the cobra clutch kits.

Thanks for the help I think this is the one i will go with. Unless someone thinks this is a bad idea. I was thinking about the 26 spline but I have spent alot on it this winter and just want to drive it this summer.

from what i've heard a 26 spline swap is alot more work then you make it seem. the TOB is like a 30 second change if the trans is out.

i couldnt imagine going with a 26 spline on a stock or "mildly" modified mach because of the limited clutch selection with even less reviews and testing done vs 10 spline units.

now if he were boosted or running a ton of juice, that'd be a different story.
