Exclamation Vortech sq-sc trim blower issue? Help?

My blower is tuned to run @ 6 psi, and I dont drive it hard, just the occasional romp.

Its tuned for daily driving with 4.10s in the rear etc...

And for some reason I was hammering it this morning in 4th gear and I would get to about 118mph 6500 rpms and only be at 3-5 psi...

When I would shift to fifth gear it would go way down of course cause the rpms but still...

Is this normal? My boost gauge has been on 5 psi before when I was running it but now it just wont even get to the 5 psi mark...

Could I be losing boost?

Also I just noticed it used to sit at -20 psi when I was just cruising and not in the charger, but now its at -10 kinda odd... But oh well...

IT could possibly be a loose belt but idk its freaking me out, I dont want the supercharger to break down. DOnt have the money right now

Belt slip? Bypass stuck open? Boost leak? Is it a mechanical boost gauge? If so it can be malfunctioning or the small tubing running to the gauge can be kinked or leaking.

its an autometer boost gauge stage II comp.

I did notice though the facing of the gauge like the dial, is actually coming out of the casing thats on the pillar.

It doesnt really feel too too different, I guess cause I am getting used to driving it. It used to pull really hard around 3500 rpms but now its not pulling as hard or it seems like that atleast.

Well, that is a mechanical gauge but I would start off by checking all couplings and make sure they are tight, if they are try borrowing another boost gauge from a friend and see if it reads the same. If that fails then just take it to your tuner to have it checked out.

There arent any funny noises coming from the supercharger is there, other than the usual chirp? Just making sure its not the blower itself.

It whistles at idle and thats it, sounds normal and everything. You cant hear it when you get on it cause the exhaust is so loud.
