Default Stock 03/04 Mach 1 mufflers

Does anyone know if the stock mufflers from a 03/04 Mach 1 are the same as the stock mufflers from a 04 GT.

From what I gathered I think they are a little different. As in they may allow more flow. But by no means are they worth buying to put on a GT.

What's your reason for wanting to know? Any stock muffler would need to be cut out and replaced, so if fitment is your question....don't bother and go full aftermarkey and bolt them in/out.

I picked up 2 almost new with only 4000 miles stainless mufflers and the chrome rolled exhaust tips from a 03 Mach 1 for only $25. I really wanted the chrome tips for my 04 GT. I was going to get Flowmasters but since this car is a daily driver I did not want the car to be to loud on the highway.I decided to have the mufflers and tips put on anyway. The sound is really close but a litttle more drone at idle and highway speed. The chrome tips look really nice too.So for a total cost of $125 I am happy with the sound.By the way..my Mustang has over 165,000 miles and runs and drives great and is driven daily even thru the winter.

The Mach1 rolled tips are pretty nice, definitely one of my favorites till I decided to dump the exhaust ha... those stock mufflers weigh a ton though

So there was/is a noticeable sound difference? Just curious because the question of Mach/GT muffs being the same or not seems to never be definitively answered. Congrats on the sweet deal.

There is a difference...although ever so slight.I noticed a slightly deeper sound with more drone at idle, while acclerating and highway speed.Overall I am happy with it esp the chrome tips.
