Default Mach1 with 315s rubs ? GT lower doesnt... confused

Hello Mach1 Mfers

I wanted to ask you mach 1 owners (btw love the Mach1 and that shaker )
a question for a fellow friend of mine who owns a beautiful 2004 Comp orange Mach 1.

he just bought a set of wheels (Fr500s like my Cobra in sig) from AM and he noticed that the tires in rear are rubbing the fender lip when he goes over bumps.has anyone had this issue?
tires in rear are Nitto 555 315-35-17 on FR500 10.5 deep dish.

I told him he could have fenders rolled but he does not want to do that because the car is like brand new and very low miles.
What I don't get is this tire and rim size works perfect no rubbing on my 99 GT and it is lower than his Mach 1.( BTW my GT has FRPP C Springs and stock shocks and struts) he wants to return the 10.5 for 9" and 275-40-17 and Id hate to see him do that.

The Mach 1 just looks to damn sweet with the 315s.

Thank you for any help.

I have AFS 10.5 X 315 in the rear with Nitto 555s. My passenger side comes very close to the exhaust pipe but doesn't do any hitting on the fender lip. Stock Mach's are suppose to sit about a half inch lower than a stock GT but that shouldn't matter.

I have the matte black 17x10.5 deep dish bullit rims with nitto 555 tires and have no issues whatsoever. Stock ride height. I don't understand why his would be rubbing even if it was lowered. I see similar setups often with no issue.

I've got an '03 DSG Mach with 10th anniversary 10.5's with 315s and Eibachs lowering springs. No rubbing whatsoever, reckon the wheels may have an incorrect offset? That's the only thing I could think of.
