Default High mileage mach 1s

I have 13000 to spend on a mach 1, i have been looking, the question is should i stay away from high mileage Mach 1s? It seems they are all high mileage at 13000.

Define high mileage. I mean since we live in Texas, I don't think a car is high mileage till it passes 175K. Some people define high mileage as over 50K. As for staying away from high miles, it's all in how it was maintained. I had a 1 owner F150 with 230K on it and it was like brand new. There is no reason to stay away from a well maintained, high mile Mach.

That said, here is a Mach in Wichita Falls with only 60K on it for $14000.

I agree with the above. See if they have service records, if not that's still not reason to run away because a lot of us do our own work. Look down in the valve cover through the oil fill and see if everything is silver, if it's darker and copper colored then maybe shy away. Then again I have had cars that were a little dirty inside the engine but ran fine for a long time.

Look in the wheel wells for rubber, if there's a ton of rubber you know they were doing some burnouts, again not the end of the world but something to think about how they probably drove the car. Just look at the overall condition of the car and that's usually a good indication of how well it was taken care of. Is the interior crapped up? did they bother to clean the car to sell it? Things like that will give you an idea. Check for rust too, there are plenty of Mach 1's around still so there is really no reason to settle for one you're not 100% sure about.

I almost bought one for 13500 until i found out it was automatic. Right now there is a white 99 cobra with 30,000 miles and a flawless body. No knicks or scratches. I offered him 13k. He said yes but i dont know if thats a good deal on a 99. Im still thinking it through. I really want an azure blue mach one but i cant find one in my price range.
