I'm thinking about selling my 04 Gt and upgrading to a 4v. I found an 04 mach 1 5spd with 56k on it. Overall the car drives well and seems to be in good shape, but I did notice a valvetrain tick on the driver side towards the back. I know this is a common problem but is it a bad problem? Should this discourage me from buying the car?

i would definitly pass if i were you. Who knows what problems/when those problems would occur

I went today to look at the car again. I'm pretty sure it does have the tick its not super loud, but it is coming from the driver side head for sure. He let me take it for another test drive. I got on it to at least get it to redline but it wasn't smooth throughout the rmps it had some hesitation throughout. What a bummer, other than that the car is exactly what I wanted. Maybe better luck next time.

i mean its better to make a sound choice especially when spending thousands of your money. Theres always others out there. heck, you may even run into a better deal! good luck with the search!

Would you consider a 2003 Mach 1, automatic? I have one with 8,841 miles I am putting up for sale. No issues, pristine condition.. show-car beauty.
