Default Possible 04 Mach 1 purchase

Hi all I am looking at buying a 2004 Mach 1, I saw it this past Saturday sitting in a used car parking lot, it is black it has been lowered, does have a torn drivers seat, has some bad spots in the paint, and has been lowered with fr500 wheels. The lot was closed so I had to wait and call this morning and it has 13x,xxx miles on it and they want 8500 for it. My question to y'all is what do y'all think? I don't have pictures but can take some tomorrow morning when I go look at it again, it didn't seem like a bad car from what I could see from a walk around. I am in South Carolina and would buy it as my car and as a good dependable car to take back and forth to college which is 3 and a half hours (240+ miles) away. Just from the info I can provide does that seem like a fair price? I would just like to know what y'all think since y'all know more and have more experience with these cars than me. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

i would shoot for lower, damaged interior, bad paint sounds like he is asking too much IMHO. just as an example, i was looking at trading in on an 08 a few years back, my 03 with mint interior and paint, with 65k miles on it was only worth 9k in trade

Based on mileage and condition sounds high to me.

Feel free to go check it out, but given the condition I'd probably pass.

The mileage in and of itself isn't a deal killer, but given the overall condition of worn/torn seat and paint I don't immediately get the impression that this car was immaculately cared for. Ridden hard and put away wet is what comes to mind.

Thank y'all for replying! I went and looked at it again this morning and got to crank it up and check it all out, I will most likely be passing on it because I got the keys and cranked it up and it didn't crank up very well in other words it didn't crank up and sound like it was running the best really, it has an aftermarket shifter handle if not the entire shifty and was very notchy and I know theses are known for that but wow, I popped the hood and it had a CIA and it was wired weird to the MAF and then I saw it had two big A&N hoses and fittings connecting the radiator with the engine and the engine seemed like it was missing some stuff off the front of it, I could be wrong but it just didn't look right, it has kooks long tube headers and a full aftermarket exhaust with no cats the clutch felt weird when pressing it in and the AC didn't get very cold for the short amount of time I had it running. I didn't even take pictures of the paint because of the way the engine was and all, but I did find another black Mach 1 that appears to be stock and pretty clean with 158,xxx miles on it and the guy wants 11,500 I'll try to attach pictures for the messed up Mach

This didn't even work

I was trying to show the long tubes here sorry

he is way high on the nice one as well, excellent condition private party value is around $7K, fair condition is around $4K these cars while cool, arent big time collector items, even though they are a bit rare

11,500? A different model,but I think that I'd have a hard time getting 8k for my totally stock,well maintained,non abused 04 GT vert with 78k.

I do agree both are high and with the miles I'll put on it 15x,xxx is too much, I found another Mach that it azure blue and is wrecked with 30,000 miles it's in pretty good condition besides the damage which isn't that bad wither and it wasn't reported to insurance, it needs some hood work a bumper and a fender and comes with the parts to fix it they want 9500 OBO so I'm thinking maybe 6-7??
