my 69 mustang coupe with an LS1 & 6 speed
This is my 1969 mustang coupe
originally 250 inline 6 with a 3 speed
Has a built, bored, & stroked 02 corvette ls1
driven through a new custom built t56
all ending up in a 9.5in posi rear end
has 13in drilled & slotted 4 piston wilwood brakes all around
a 14 point roll cage, and no interior besides carpet and seats
dash is just flat sheet metal with all the instruments
suspension is 2in lift coils front and rear leafs for an f100 so 2ft lift from stock
painless wiring chassis kit and separate painless ls1 kit
before the engine swop
still waiting on the headers
then it needs a new paint job and smaller wheels

had to use an 04 gto oil pan to make it front sump
after that it lined up perfectly
and for the clearance I wanted for the t56 I had to cut out the trans tunnel
so still making the new one from sheet metal
i'll post some pics of progress once the rain stops and i can get back to welding

Looking forward to the pics and the details for the rest of this swap.
I have a standard 69 Cougar being rebuilt that just so happens to have a LS1 sitting next to it in the shop just waiting for the right time to drop it in.
How is the clearance for spark plug changes? Some older posts on the web say its tight fight (as in 1 or 2 inches of room) with the shock towers.
