So, I won't be driving the stang in the winter, and need to buy a used vehicle for that time. I'd like a truck; I used to have a stick shift ford ranger (94), and it handled like hell unless I put like four sandbags in the bed.
But I like the smaller trucks b/c I just "fit" in them more...I guess that sound weird but as a female being in a hUge truck just isn't my thing.
Anways, I'm thinking of a dokota R/T. What do you all think? What would your choice be for a winter truck (not a huge f250 or whatever..)
thx for any input!

I had a 99 ranger and it was great in the snow of Michigan. They look great and yes for any truck its recommended to throw some sandbags in the back for traction. I do remember them being gas guzzlers for the 4.0L V6 it had back then. I am sure they have improved....do you want 4 wheel drive? makes a huge difference regardless of the size of the truck

thanks for all of the suggestions...my dad is going to donate his truck to the 'cash for clunkers' deal they have going on right now, and he has babied that truck and took excellent care of it.
so after reading the replies I thought I'd make him an offer for it so it doesnt have to be donated to the effing gov't lol. (and part of the deal is it gets crushed! eek!).
He basically said anything to convince me out of buying it, b/c the trans is going to go, the engine is going to go blahblabhlbh. and it has 260k miles on it...
His suggestion was to find someone selling one with highway miles on it, but a few years "younger" than his (it's a 94).
About the height as my 95 4runner, but it is longer and I believe wider. The 4.7L V8 really has a really good kick too. He bought it because it was such a good deal. Something like $8100 with just over 100K on it.
