Default Nyghtmare Convertible

Been here a while, don't think I ever posted pix of any of our Mustangs. This is my 91 5.0 convertible. We paid 800.00 for it with a busted tranny, nasty rotting interior and top. 4 years, 1 complete color change and interior replacement, a custom paint job, some performance parts, and some fun summers later it runs like a scalded dog and looks wicked sick. My husband HATED the idea of the Ghosthorse, said it was the stupidest idea he'd ever heard... until that first show after we'd gotten it all back together. Now he's appropriately apologetic.

Default Okay. I got to ask! Opinions please!

Okay. This last weekend I took the Nyghtmare to a cruise night Friday evening and a car show on Saturday.

I lost track quickly of the people who asked me who painted that awesome dragon on my car. or my personal favorite, a SKULL MONSTER!

Let me do that again.

One more time.

Do I SEE a ghost horse/Mustang simply because I know the car and it was my idea to have it painted on there, or is it pretty clear what it is?

I can see people just seeing the flames and missing the bony pony entirely, but a DRAGON? I've also had it asked Uh, whut is that supposed to be? A shark!? (A SHARK? WTF? the only HAMMERHEAD around is you dude!) And really, it shouldn't matter what people take away from it when they look at it, because in a way it IS art and art is supposed to be open to interpretation, but the POINT IS it is a MUSTANG! Ergo, the flaming ghost HORSE. HORSE=MUSTANG. They completely miss the point when they see a DRAGON (It is NOT A DODGE VIPER!)

Anyone care to break it to me that sorry, it isn't obviously a horse? Anyone? LOL Promise I won't throw stuff at you!

Default And just to beat a dead horse, pun intended!

OH YEAH! I've been told "What an awesome dinosaur!" too.

I had a friend walk across the street from the flower shop during the cruise night downtown and ask, How many effing times am I gonna have to explain to stupid people that is a HORSE SKELETON on there!?

So its not just me hearing it... but yeah. Opinions?

ya i can see that its a horse, but it seems like the placement could have been better or maybe its just the angle the picture was taken from

Default Absolutely

I totally agree on the placement thing, but I really wanted it stretched across that front fender - which really limits the 'canvas' the artist had to work with... and honestly, its a hard paint job to take pictures of and get it to be highly visible. The lighter shades are done in some sort of pearl/semi reflective type paint, so when you snap a shot of it, it does something weird and becomes barely visible. However! Under street lights, and I noticed this just Friday night, the skull and ribs become very visible. Its just weird....

Oh well. I suppose I shouldn't get snotty about it - folks love to look at it, and love to talk about it. Guess I shouldn't care what they take away from it. LOL

Annnd, I finally got a good pic of it. Its really strange - The airbrushed parts take better pictures in the DARK than it does during the day:

Edit: I am so. sick. of the rain.
