it goes like this... my first stang was an '86 GT 'vert that I bought back in 2000. Was a fun car, but time took it's toll. When the bottom end started to go on the engine, I couldn't justify the cost of a full restoration- so I dumped it in '04. In spring '05, I picked up a cherry '01 GT 'vert in triple white. I really liked that car, but sold it a little over 2 years ago when I bought my Backdraft Cobra (replica). In short order, I began to regret selling the '01. So... earlier this year, I started looking for a new Mustang. Lost out on a flawless '04 GT special anniversary edition 'vert that had less than 4000 miles on it & was bummed for quite some time. I considered getting a terminator, but really just wanted a nice, comfortable cruiser. Stumbled across my '05 about a month ago. In the L.A. area... clean, low-mileage cars go FAST... and typically for fairly high prices. I went to look at this one & immediately said "yep, that's the one". I'm pretty picky about condition, and this one met my criteria... super clean... no door dings or major scratches... just a few, small stone chips on the front (to be expected). Only had 22,000 miles on it, which was also a plus. Had the Shaker1000 audio system... which was nice. Is mechanically stock (good)... the only mods are the wheels, the Saleen "style bar", and the color-matched mirrors. Was priced pretty good for the condition & the mileage, so a deal was struck in short order. The 5-speed is a more engaging drive, tho I still wish it were an automatic, as the cupholders are unusable while driving & I ALWAYS have a drink with me. Will have to switch to cans, I guess. I like the look, rolling on 20s, but they really compromise the handling when inflated to proper pressure. I think 18s would work best. Anyhow, here's the pics...
