but the M was sooooooo sick!!!!
and faster....
and much more expensive lol
My opinion: If you have the disposable income, keep the M
If you want a fast car for about 20 grand cheaper.....Get the Stang!
I'll always have a mustang in my life lol
I'll have a V6 mustang daily and something with 10 cylinders for a weekend car

I love the coupe M3 and 335... Mustang is a great choice...
I can help you out with the G35 thing... I had a 2004 G35x (all wheel drive 4 door car) and man I loved that car. But I will say the interior in the new mustang I THINK is better... Its a tad rougher and looses its end when you go over big bumps in turns. But overall it was an upgrade for me to get the Mustang GT premium.
Two things my G35 had over my Mustang
-all wheel drive (great in snow)
-Bose sound system was AMAZING

ok..
without a doubt, driving the m3 was special. the mustang replacing the M was purely a financial decision. My m3 was stickered at $67,000 and the mustang at about $32,000.
i would not have gotten rid of the M3 if I didn't have to cut back a little.
The M3 was truly a track car and unfortunately I never even had the chance to drive it there. on the street, it's capabilities are somewhat wasted.
What I mostly miss from the M: 4 doors, good sized back seat, high MPG for a car that on paper ran high 12's stock, the brakes, the handling, & 8400 RPM's. the handling was truly the remarkable part of the car. no matter how hard you pushed it through a turn, it was solid and always on point.
What it was missing was cubic inches and low end power/torque.
it sounds ridiculous but the mustang actually sort of feels faster, especially in the low range. the sound and feel of the larger engine is hard to replicate. I have no regrets and love the stang. It is not my first as I had a new 89.5 lx 5.0 hatch, 5 speed, 3.08's back in the day that ran 14.2 bone stock then!
My 335 actualy felt faster than both cars and I almost think it was a mistake getting rid of the 335 for the M3. handled almost the same and those twin turbos gave 300 lb/ft of torque at 1500 rpms and stayed there to redline. truly an engineering marvel.
Regarding the g35. besides the 07 that I had, I already had a g37 picked out before I got the stang 2 weeks ago. a great car, the v6 is strong and fast and handling was great. interior was fantastic too. I really can't put the g in the same conversation with the 335 or the m3 though. you really have to drive the bimmers to "feel" what I'm talking about.
all that being said, I love the stang and with some exhaust and minor mods, it will be as much fun as the M... on the street at least where most of the driving takes place
the way I figure it. in 2 years I'lll trade in the 10 for a newer 5.0 stang, which looks so far to be amazing!
I'll post a few clips that I took from inside the M during acceleration to give you an idea. it was bone stock, sound isn't the best from my camera but gives an idea..
