Hi ... I am in the same boat as the previous poster. I could use the pictures of the famous "silencer" Hurst fix. Could you email them again (dr.ronclark@yahoo.com)?

Hello, I have recently installed a hurst shifter on my mustang and found your post about a fix for the rattle. The pictures seem to no longer be there. Could you send me some pictures as I am having a little trouble understanding the installation of your proposed fix. Thanks a bunch!

I tried to do the install using the dimensions you gave, but the OD and ID seemed to large. I am trying to figure out where the flex hose is supposed to mount and push against the linkage. Please email me the pictures you had posted on a thread. email address is Jpelletier@umassd.edu thank you!

    Jon,

It continues to work despite the wildly varying temperatures of New England. It's a simple fix and you can't beat the price!

Best of luck to ya Jon - Rick

Hi Rick, Well I think it is a year since you came up with Hurst Silencer. I am getting ready to install one in my car. Got the silencer ready. My question is. Since it has been a while Is your silencer still working or does it need to be replaced periodically?? Thanks Jon

Hey Rick, I just got a Pony, its a 2007 and hardly has 12,000 miles on it. The first performance upgrade I got was the HURST short throw. I noticed you had a solution to the rattle and i had a couple questions about it before i go rummaging around under the stang.
I understand the part about wrapping the long arm that connects to the tranny. So I would start that around 6" away from the transmission on that arm. Then i would take the end of that tubing and wedge it between the top side of that plate that the ball and socket are mounted to and the underside of the car? and thats it?
I just really cant stand this rattle anymore, its driving me INSANE haha.

Hey Mellow... no that wasn't me, I've lived in New England most of my life except the 5 years I spent in Europe. You CA guys are cool in my book; I was a motocross racer in my teens and it seemed as if all the action was in SOCAL..and now I notice a LOT of Mustang enthusiasts out there! Thanks for droppin' me a line.. I've always admired your car! KUDOS!
