DESCRIPTION:
Former California Highway Patrol Vehicle #E408395 (Mrs28HopUp named the car 'Bacon'!). Have a copy of the CHP assignment card matching my car's VIN to that unit number. A real Black and White pursuit Mustang. Stationed in Quincy, CA from April 1986 through October 1987. In that time it clocked over 83K miles, or an average of 130 miles per day. It is 1 of 155 SSP Mustangs bought by the CHP in 1985. Was repainted silver by the CHP prior to being sold at auction. Was subsequently repainted 'Toyota Gray'. Not many 1985 CHP Mustangs are known to exist now.
MODIFICATIONS:
- Carbed 5.0L with 5 spd (tremec)
- Hurst shifter
- Centerforce clutch
- CARB-legal JBA shorties with full cats and 2.25' dual 3-chamber Flowmasters
- 93 Cobra 8.8' rear-end with disc brakes
- 87-up 11' front disc brakes
- Racecraft suspension with KYB shocks and aftermarket springs
- Aftermarket panhard bar
- Subframe connectors (welded)
- 225/60R15 (front) and 255/60R15 BFG's (rear) on painted 15x7 10-holes
Planning to resto-modify it back as an unmarked Fox cop car. ET's will be coming later in 2009.
