    Good to hear! Mine still doesn't grind even below 40 degrees so I think I'm fine, just feels a little rough on warm up. How warm outside it is simply determines how long it takes of driving before it's smooth, no big deal. Basically I've accepted it, especially remembering an 09 I drove felt the exact same.

    Yup, I could get it on 4th gear as well if I looked for it, and even 3rd as you mentioned. 5th was the only gear that didn't feel like it, and it's just the 2nd was the most noticeable and frequent. Cold, any car with a transmission like ours designed to take some abuse will feel notchy, but I think as long as you aren't actually grinding, I'd say your fine. Mine still feels notchy on my first start of the day during the summer. It's in storage now so I don't know how it is in the cold. I did find a way around it though, next time you start it, let it warm up for a minute or two, and as you accelerate away and you're going to put it into 2nd, bring your rpms up a bit more (~2200-2500 rpm) and shift at a slow to normal speed, and usually I can skip over that feeling and after a few minutes the trans is warmed up. Try it and let me know how it feels. Again, any trans cold isn't going to feel as good as when it's warmed up.

    You could take it in to the dealer and ask for them to look at it if it makes you feel better, but I wouldn't worry about. Seems to be the nature of the beast. And since you already did the fluid swap, I'd say you're at where you should be.

    About the tsb. Basically what I had was when I would shift into 2nd, you would get a scraping feeling. Best way I can describe it is rubbing sand paper against sand paper, maybe? Really hard to describe, almost like I didn't have the clutch depressed all the way. It would be very random, but more prevalent before the car would warm up. It would also do it almost all the time if you were going about 25 and downshift to 2nd without rev matching. Got the dealership to service it, which took about 2-3 weeks and I was actually kind of unhappy about it as they told me multiple different times it would be done before it was. When I got the car back I got in and it felt exactly the same. Later I switched the fluid out to Pennzoil synchromesh, and it made it SO much better. I'm now running Redline D4 ATF which feels just as good, though I think I liked the Pennzoil a little better, and it's cheaper too. It's still a little notchy sometimes going through the gate of the gear, but the rough feeling is pretty much gone.

    I think the big thing is if you have an audible grinding. The real issue seems to be, as my search showed, some people were having a literal full on grind for their first shift to 2nd on a cold start. I never actually had an audible grind, just a feeling that would transmit through the shifter. I think the roughness that I had is just the nature of the transmission in these cars. Heck I sat in an 02 Trans Am a bit ago and the shifter felt a lot rougher than mine. It's all about perspective, and me coming from econobox cars noticed it right away.

    Sorry for the length, but I hope it helps. I was just trying to be thorough since I never got the help I needed when I was having the issue.
