Just wanted to pass on that the Gladwin Business and Professional Association is sponsoring "Thunder on the Strip" 1/8 Mile Street Legal Drag Racing on September 11 from 12:00pm - 6:00pm.

This is our first year and this event probably isn't for the hard core racers. Cars have to be insured and street legal. No slicks. No burn outs to heat up the tires. No water box. No 60 foot timer. Just good old fashioned drag racing.

$25 gets you as many runs as you can fit in.

Sounds interesting, I don't think my stock sixxer will handle anything, but an excuse just to see what it's capable of .... or the nudge I need to get a cai and tune done!

I just realized that I can't make this - I have been doing the high school football games chain gang for about 7 years and this year we have a game on 9/11 in the afternoon.

We got rained out today before the first car ran, so it got moved to Sunday, the 12th. Driver registrations beginning at 11am. Racing at 1pm.

74 cars showed up. Only 7 Fords...1 comet, 1 T-bird, 2 Fox bodies, 3 S197's.
