Default Lapeer Dragway - Saturday, October 17, 2009

I feel the need..... the need for speed

I'm heading to Lapeer this Saturday for some TnT and to try to get the car dialed in before our "Official Unofficial Scrming's Children of the Corn" race day on November 7.

Anyone else ready to head over?

I can't guarantee it but I'll try and make it. Just got some underdrive pullies from Lidio and I'd like to see if they make any noticeable difference.

TnT starts at noon, and the cost is $25 for car and driver. If you don't have a helmet they rent those for $5. Lapeer requires everyone to wear a helmet.

I'm heading out in a few minutes so hope to see you there.

It was a great day to be at the track. Lapeer actually did a great job of prep today, even with the cold temperature (low 40's in the afternoon) the track was hooking well.

In fact I had to lift in order to hit my dial in time for the Mustang Collective Racing Team and I was still 0.1 too quick for that.

Hit a new personal best of 13.42 at 101, and was running 13.5 all day. With good track prep I think I have the Xcharger launch figured out now. Scrmings Children of the Corn on November 7 should be good times as well.

There is more in it with a little tweaking of the tune. It still runs rich and I'm not happy with the shifts yet, the 2-3 seems too quick.

Lidio and I talked about it and decided to wait until the intercooler comes out and then work on it with that upgrade since the car runs fine on the Bamachips email tune. Who knows, on November 7 I will try for a little more and no lifting because my MCRT dial in will be a lot lower (and hopefully not get the same notice on my time slip as Joe got last year!)

Jim sounds like your getting there.

It was too cold for me. My tires would have been spinning for ever. I tried a quick run on the street Saturday and spun and fishtailed really bad. I'll try to make Lapeer next Saturday if the temps up to at least 55 degrees.
