Default Mustang Memories - Congratulations

Congratulations to the committee chairs and board members. Mustang Memories on Sunday, August 8, 2010 was a great event. Well organized as always, lots of great cars and great product raffles (even though Tracey beat me out on the shorty headers we were both trying to win!), and it was really nice to see the Dream Giveaway presentation.

Looking forward to seeing everyone at Ford WHQ again next year.

GREAT event! I am glad I was a part of it.

Don't know the official count but over 620 Vehicles. Amazing!!!

I would kill for that Patriot GT500!!!! It was amazing what that gentleman did. Giving both Stangs back to generate even more money for care and support of our Wounded Heroes! I am so glad I got to witness such heartfelt generosity! I am humbled by his example!!!

I was also there and it was awesome!!!

Those two Shelbys were insane. The man who won the mustangs is truly a generous person. I had the chance to speak with him and he was a very nice guy. It was very ironic that he served in the military for 20 years and he was the winner of the contest which was put on by a charity that helps veterans! I spoke with a couple of representives of the charity, which is called Healing Heroes Network, and I was very impressed with them, and their passion to help our vets.

It was definitely a very touching moment, and no one deserved to win more.

Supposedly, there will be another Mustang Giveaway next year, and the cars are going to be even better!

We were all talking about what we would do with the cars
before the ceremony.....
Keep one, sell the other, sell both, tear up the road with 'em
(that was my idea, ha ha!)
I can honestly tell ya that giving them back didn't even come up.
Calling him generous doesn't seem to say enough.

Fantastic Show. Thanks to all the volunteers and especially our Pres Mike for making it possible.

It almost took your breath away when the winner of the Dream Giveaway donated those dream Mustangs... WOW!
It would be a shame to separate those two cars... Jay Leno where are you?

Wingman - Jay Leno would drive them once or twice and then put them up in his Garage. No one would ever see them! They should be given to a National Veterans Organization and used in Parades and Events to showcase the history and the incredible gift this gentleman gave back!

Heck, maybe they belong in the Smithsonian!?!

Martin, thanks for your comments, but I don't agree. I used Jay as an example but Jay knows how to take care of these cars whereas if a bureaucratic organisation has control there's no telling what would happen to them. I'm sure Jay would make them available for the uses you specify and care for them as they should be.

Default Wow - is all I can say

Expectations for this year's Mustang Memories All-Ford Car Show and Swap Meet were high, but the show exceeded those expectations in every way. The weather cooperated and provided the perfect day for a show that attracted over 600 show cars and over 3,000 spectators. The vendor midway included dozens more cars from Ford Racing, Classic Design Concepts, ROUSH, Steeda, Livernois Motorsports, Blue Collar Performance, and many more. Like everything else at the show, the swap meet was outstanding and the place to find whatever you were looking for. And the highlight of the day, the two Mustang Dream Giveaway cars were awarded to Robert Totten, a veteran himself, and he promptly donated them back to the Healing Heros Network.

Congratulations to Mike Rey, MOCSEM President, all the show committee heads and the army of volunteer show workers whose tireless efforts made this show such a memorable success. And thanks to Ford Motor Company who provided the perfect venue, all the club members and others who brought their vehicles out, the sponsors who make this show possible and the spectators who give us all a reason to be out there. We're already looking forward to the 23rd annual Mustang Memories show on August 14th, 2011 again at Ford World Headquarters!
