I would have to say the weather wasn’t so great this time. Home to me is great weather almost 10 months out of the year in 70deg with beaches in sight. A nice coastal lifestyle Unfortunately the fire season is something we fear every year. Earlier this year we were attacked and many residence were evacuated due to the Gap fire in Goleta. Due to this fire, power at Moss was on/off, phone system was in and out and work was very difficult.
This weekend on Thursday evening the Tea fire broke out and burned more than 200 homes and about 2,000 acres which recruited about 1,300 firefighters in the tri-county area. The enemy here was the Santa Ana winds that helped the winds stretch from 200 acres at 6:30 pm to 1900 acres and 9pm. The ambers were so high and flying fiercely throughout the night. At this moment, I was evacuated and was asked to leave. The block was given a short period of time to go. This is when I grabbed my toys, packed some stuff, loaded the motorcycles and drove off to pick up a six pack and head on over to the girlfriends house.
An employee here was sadly enough one of the 200 that lost her home. Fires have been an issue and till Tea fire, we have never lost homes. This fire has left many devastated and without shelter. Is sad to say, but its not over, fires are still burning in southern California. Yikes. Its been so dry and in desperate need of rain.
Shot out to my So-Cal residence that have lost their homes, or that have been evacuated and those thousands or firefighters that have put in so much work to help out. GOD BLESS YOU ALL.
