You can actually use the GT cable, but you will need to relocate the cruise module closer so that the cable will reach. Otherwise, if you get a cobra cable it will bolt right up to your current cruise module.

Now that I look at it, you are using the 97-98 intake, so it might reach?

I have a question:

I have the engine installed and cold start is a bitch. It is flooding out and I'm grinding on the starter for 2 minutes trying to get it started and it finally fires up.

What are the injectors rated at GT vs Mark VIII?

the GT is 19lb/hr and the mark viii is 24lb/hr. The orange top is 19 and the greenish/blue is 24.

I ran mine on the 19's for awhile, and then moved over to the 24's about 5k miles later. ran the same when i switched. I am using the stock GT MAF as well. no tune.

Yeah, I just found out that the Mark has #24 injectors vs. the 19# GT so I'm hoping that switching back to the 19# will stop the flooding.

If it doesn't then I'm back to scratching my *** and blinking.

double check your vacuum lines and also your IAC.

when it does fire up, how does it run?

It seems to run OK but I'm burning the hell out of the starter just getting it started.

Let me ask you something.

If I pulled the ECU out of a Mark VIII would that play nice with my Mustang? I was thinking about just using the Mark VIII MAF, injectors and ECU and going that route.

Thoughts?

Thanks.

Putting the Mustang injectors back in cured the flooding problem.

The cold cranking problem is still happening though. I'm thinking it's a crank sensor or a cam sensor.

I was able to get it started yesterday and took it for a short burst. Cruising along it was smooth as silk but once I put my foot in it a couple of the coils showed their asses.

At idle, when I closed my eyes, I swear if I didn't know better that I was sitting back in my Mark VIII. Put it in gear and it idles down nicely. No codes being thrown, AC blowing cold.

Today was 1/2 price day at the LKQ. I went this morning and low and behold there was a 98 Mark VIII fresh on the ground and intact.

The coils looked great so I snagged everyone of them, grabbed the alternator as well. Also grabbed the cruise control module and cable and a couple each crank and cam sensors.

I'm close, people.

I'm close.
