89 302 engine and auto transmission on 69 mustang

I have a 89 5.0 engine and tranny I want to put on my 69 project but don’t know if I need a computer to run the tranny.

Sam_69Project, What tranny are you running with this engine? With internals loosely based on the FMX, the four-speed overdrive AOD which was offered from 1981-93 is the only non-computer controlled overdrive Ford transmission that will work with a V-8. Looking at this engine I would suggest dumping the fuel injection and run a Edelbrock Performer with a Holley 650 cfm and have a lot of trouble free fun.
