I have the 3650 now. Getting a stock clutch assembly from a super awesome forum member. So now I need to pick up the MGW shifter and the adapter plate. Really wanting to get that 3650 into my car in two months at the latest. My T5 is not going to make it to the point that we are ready to put the motor in.

At the moment the motor is still at the shop. It is the middle of their busiest season so they said don't be in a hurry. Which is fine, because we don't have the stroker kit yet. After the trans is in, we are going to take our time and build this motor right. It will be stroked to a 5.0, cammed (not sure which cams yet), and looking at getting the heads port and polished. I'm really wanting to have motor finished by Shelby Mid-America next year which is in June.

Whoa..So bottom-line is, you'll be waiting until June to put the new motor in? Tell hubby he has my condolences, as he will be facing the brunt of that stir-craziness til then.

Haha my car will be running. We are just going to bite the bullet and get the adapter plate to use the 3650 with the 4.0.

please keep this thread updated tanner, I am planning on swapping a GT drivetrain into my car as well within the next year. I want to do it the same way you are with buying a totaled GT so I have everything. I just so happen to have a MASSIVE auto salvage place right down from my house that has GTs all the time for around the same prices. Good luck!

would you be willing to share the details of this place? I'm looking for a totalled GT and I'm on a pretty tight budget. All I can find are 5-6k totalled cars when I call people up. most places around here have so few/if any s197s its difficult.

It is the way to do it. My husband added it up and with only the parts we've sold now, if we were just doing a straight swap we would only be $600 out of pocket. But since we are doing all this other stuff, it is a long way from being finished, but its going to be so awesome after its finished.
