Default 408 stroker questions

Hey everyone. Im new to this forum (to forums in general for that matter) and just have a few questions. Im planning on building up a 408 stroker and im trying to get as much research done now as i possibly can so as to minimize the headaches down the road. I havent started the build or even purchased anything for that matter, so this is all just preliminary planning. Anyways. My plan at the moment is a probe industries street fighter bottom end kit w/ flat top pistons, afr outlaw 185cc heads w/ 72cc combustion chamber (trying to keep compression ratio down as i plan to run on pump gas), a weiand stealth or edlebrock performer dual plane intake manifold, and a 750cfm holley carb. I was wondering if anyone had any opinions on what cam would be best for this set up assuming i am trying to build a streetable car that i could bring down to the track every now and then to have some fun and how much hp at the crank this setup would make once its all said and done. Also if anyone has any other opinions, please share them. As i said before, this is all preliminary planning and all extra knowledge is always appreciated. Thanks.

185cc heads might be a little small for that mill if you don't want it to choke on higher rpms.
I'd go with 205s.
As for the cam, you could go with the Ford Racing "Z" cam but you could run something a little more radical and still be very streetable.
Something like Comp Cam XFI236HR-14 (0.579 lift and 238/246 degree duration).
You'll have power everywhere up to 6300rpm. Perfect for street applications...
Those XFI serie cams are designed for stroker engines.
A dual plane Edelbrock Performer Airgap with 750 Holley will work perfectly with that combo indeed.

What is your goal with this and in what year car you're putting this thing in?
Also, you should ask in the classic section about your project since those type of engines find teir way in classic cars mostly.

Thanks for the reply.
My goal if you're talking about hp is somewhere in the ballpark of 500hp +/- 20-30hp. Which i've heard is pretty attainable as long as you build it up right.
And as far as what im trying to put it in, im trying to get a project 1968-70 fastback to work on to accept the engine.

With the combo mentioned above, you'll get 500 horses at the crank with ease that's for sure but more importantly, 500lbs of torque as well.
Whatever you do though, go with a total roller engine because of today's oil being free of zinc (which is good for engines)......Unless you plan to use motorcycle oil.

A well built 408 should move the 68/70 style Stang pretty well.
