V6 to v8 swap
Hi all.
I have a 1998 Mustang with a 3.8 V6. What my thoughts are is to pull this engine and replace it with an old school 60's-70's carborated v8. Or the best choice engine that will give me the least amount of problems to make this convertion. Something that would bolt right in to the existing motor mounts etc. I mean it would be a neat trick if I could use the ext automatic transmission but not the end of the world. I would like to find an engine most likely used and completly rebuild it. Maybe add a mild cam and just realy detail it so it looks amazing. I am not looking to go fast. I just want that nice old school sound and some punch would be nice. But, When I open the hood I want it to go back in time. Ya know a battery engine and alternator period. I want to see the mechanics of the power plant. Not a tone of wires and whatnot completely blanketing the mechanics of what the engine is. Ok, haveing said that my question to yall is what would be my best choice engine and transmission to start looking for.
Thanks
