I have a 1997 ford mustang V6. I want something bigger. Either a 4.6 or a 5.0. I have been told that due to the year of my car a 5.0 will not work due to the sensors within the car. I don't know if that's a fact or someone just telling me junk. I'd like other people opinion on that topic. Also, seeing how I've never done a motor swap i'd like to know everything i'd need to do the motor swap including wire harnesses and k members and such. Thanks in advance!

You were told right, the 5.0L will be a TON of work.

First thing (and I hate to say it) is if you have to ask... it's over your head to do this swap.

You'll need a donor car to strip parts from to make it easy: Engine, trans, rear end, front suspension, harness, dash harness, dash cluster and a few other odds and ends.
